When Rajesh Chandy joined the Carlson School in 2000, he was known for the significant contributions he has made to the practice of marketing research and research in marketing.

Today, as Carlson School Professor of Marketing and associate professor, Chandy is recognized as an expert in radical innovation and technology marketing. Fortune described his findings on radical innovation as "an unorthodox, and bracing set of management principles." In recent years, Chandy has studied the impact of acquisitions on innovation, advertising in evolving markets, and the sources and financial impact of radical innovation.

Chandy serves on the editorial boards of several major journals, including the Journal of Marketing , and has been honored for his contributions to marketing theory and thought.

Recently, Full-Time MBA students voted him Outstanding Professor of the Year and honored him with the Outstanding Faculty Dedication Award.
