MBA Concentration

Our integrative approach to Operations Management reflects the current business environment in which effective management and decision making require cross-functional knowledge and smart management of production, support, and customer-related technologies. Students with an Operations Management Concentration come away with a mix of a broad understanding operations-specific and operations-related issues and specialization within particular operations topics.

The Operations Management Concentration offers a set of courses that cover many areas of operations and technology management, providing students with the fundamental tools, skills, and knowledge to support their management education. Through their coursework, students develop a set of problem solving competencies related to operations that enhance their careers. The Operations Management Concentration prepares students for careers in consulting, manufacturing, service, process and performance improvement, and also coordinates well with other concentrations within the MBA program. The Concentration includes elective courses that are also required as part of the Supply Chain Concentration and the E-Business Concentration. Additionally, OMS 6082 International Operations Management fulfills a program requirement for the International Business Concentration.

The curriculum in the Operations Management Concentration focuses on business issues and problems. Scheduling Operations Management courses is flexible because upon completion of MBA 6220 Operations Management, students can enroll in any elective course with the OMS designation. OMS electives can be taken in any order.
