MINNEAPOLIS —(June 15, 2009)— Jim Lawrence, chief financial officer of Unilever, will speak at the Carlson School of Management’s First Tuesday Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, at the University of Minnesota’s McNamara Alumni Center, 200 Oak St. S.E., Minneapolis.

During the presentation on the “New Unilever,” Lawrence will discuss the transformation of Unilever over the past four years, the ways in which Unilever is now changing under chief executive officer Paul Polman, and why Unilever is well placed to emerge from the economic downtown even stronger than before.

Previously, he held positions as executive vice president of Northwest Airlines and president and chief executive officer of Pepsi-Cola Asia, Middle East and Africa.

Lawrence has served on a variety of boards at the University of Minnesota, including The Board of Overseers of The Carlson School of Management and The University of Minnesota Foundation Investment Advisors.

Lawrence received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Yale University, and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
