Executive MBAResidencies

InternationalResidency

At the conclusion of the Executive MBA program, students participate in an international residency that is quite possibly the most intense learning opportunity a business student ever experiences. In addition to providing a deeper understanding of emerging and mature markets around the world, the residency imparts a broadened sensitivity to cultural and social differences that can have a profound impact on global business.

Led by senior faculty, the residency incorporates pre-program lectures, guest speakers, project assignments, and final team presentations. Along with company visits and plant tours, students attend presentations, panel discussions, and lectures led by senior government officials, business leaders, and local professors.

Previous international residencies:
Vienna, Austria
Warsaw, Poland
Dublin, Ireland
London, England
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Santiago, Chile
Sao Paulo, Brazil
Budapest, Hungary
St. Petersburg, Russia
Stockholm, Sweden

DomesticResidencies

The Executive MBA program includes two 5-day domestic residencies that occur at the beginning of each school year, designed to ground students in the academics as well as provide valuable tools to help them work in diverse study teams. During the first residency, students begin coursework and explore how teams function best. The residency also includes a formal kick-off dinner that features a special guest speaker. The second year residency focuses on critical issues and includes an experientially based course on global negotiations designed to prepare students for the international residency, which takes place at the end of the final semester of the program.
