The Medical Industry Leadership Institute partners with the Carlson School to offer an MBA with a medical industry specialization. Few graduate business programs focused on the medical industry offer students the training, knowledge,and experience they need to meet the future challenges and business opportunities of this growing market.

Stephen Parente, associate professor of finance and director of the Medical Industry Leadership Institute has co-authored a paper, "Effects of a Consumer Driven Health Plan on Pharmaceutical Spending and Utilization," which compares pharmaceutical spending and utilization in a consumer driven health plan with a three-tier pharmacy benefit design.
