Marketing & BusinessDevelopment Analyst


Analysts provide internal consulting services to the company's 40+ divisions. This leadership development program offers analysts the opportunity to contribute daily to the growth of our company's seven global businesses. Analysts work closely with marketing, sales, technical, and manufacturing personnel to address a variety of domestic and international business situations. Project areas include:

  • Marketing: market and product opportunity analysis, DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) new product development and new product introduction process, pricing analysis, competitive analysis, segmentation, conjoint studies, brand building, eBusiness, CRM projects, Six Sigma process improvement projects, etc.
  • Strategy: corporate and divisional strategic planning, market platforms assessment, technology assessment, growth plans, etc.
  • Business Development: business modeling, new business development processes, mergers and acquisitions strategy and planning, etc.


  • Responsibilities include:
  • Building and managing client relationships.
  • Participating on and/or managing cross-functional teams.
  • Analyzing business data and making actionable recommendations for clients and division management.
  • Conducting primary and secondary research to obtain market data.
  • Visiting and interviewing customers.
  • Coordinating the use of external market consultants and internal resources.
  • Supporting SBD's practice through methodology development and deployment.


  • Analysts typically spend 3 years in the Strategic Business Development department before moving into one of a variety of marketing or business management positions within a division.

    The Strategic Business Development department seeks individuals who possess:
  • An MBA with an emphasis in marketing and/or strategy.
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
  • Relevant work experience (preferably 3+ years).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
