We are a private investment firm based in Minneapolis, MN, interested in hiring an intern who would help analyze potential new investment opportunities and assist in managing our current portfolio. We own control positions in three companies. The first company is one of the largest independent, privately owned residential real estate appraisers in the country, with 21 offices scattered across the US. The second company is the leading supplier of mouth guards for youth sports in the US; and the third company is a manufacturer of high quality, value-oriented office systems furniture. All three companies are based in the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area and are focused on long-term growth initiatives.
Job description:
The intern will assist in analyzing and executing potential new investments and would work closely with management of each of our existing portfolio companies as they execute growth plans. This position will require strong Excel and financial modeling skills. The position will report to the Managing Partner. Day to day responsibilities will include:
Analyze potential new acquisitions and portfolio companies
Develop information/research on portfolio company markets and competitors
Complete special projects for portfolio companies
Assist Director of Marketing with marketing initiatives for each of the portfolio companies
Administer deal tracking database
Required experience:
We are looking for a candidate with a strong desire to learn more about the private equity business who has demonstrated outstanding academic success. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of accounting and finance and should possess outstanding written and oral communication skills. Candidate should also have the ability to manage multiple projects. Prior work experience is preferred but not required.
