This position is for MBA students who have completed their first year of school. It's located in our downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, headquarters.
As an intern, you are given assignments in different finance departments and receive a broad sense of the various business units. During your internship, you will act as financial partner and business consultant for internal clients such as merchandising, stores, advertising, supply chain, property development, and technology services.
Examples of previous internship projects:
Analysis of the financial impact of strategic changes in merchandise pricing
Review of new retail technologies and opportunities
Evaluation of the impact of competitors actions on sales in grocery products
Evaluation of the tradeoffs between using store space for more check lanes or more merchandise
Analysis of the incremental payroll costs for multi-level vs. single-level stores
Review of specific outsourcing opportunities
Analysis of the profitability of various merchandise categories on our website
Analysis of the opportunity cost of particular locations on our website
