- Do I want to study in English or a foreign language?
- What do I want to study?
- How independent do I want to be?
- Where am I in my academic program?
- Do I want an internship?

| STEP 2: Research & Identify Programs |
- Visit the International Programs and Learning Abroad Center web sites.
- Talk to students who have studied abroad.
- Meet with an International Programs advisor during walk-in hours, Monday through Thursday from 1pm to 4pm in CSOM 2-210
- Use advising resources and gather information on programs that interest you.

| STEP 3: Meet with Your Academic Advisor |
- Discuss programs that best match your academic goals.
- Petition coursework for application toward degree requirements, if necessary.
- Plan coursework in advance of studying abroad to make sure you stay on track for graduation.

| STEP 4: Apply & Prepare |
- Complete the application
- Research scholarships
- Meet with the Office of Student Finance for a cost estimate
- Obtain a passport and visa

STEP 5: Have a Great Trip

- Keep in contact with your academic advisor

| STEP 6: Upon Return |
- Attend re-entry events
- Share your experiences with others.
- Make an appointment with your academic advisor to go over coursework
