Helen Virginia Hart, ’42 BA, passed away on August 6, 2006 at the age of 86. Ms. Hart was an astute businesswoman. She highly valued education throughout her accomplished life. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth; son-in-law, and two grandchildren.
Marjory Etta Hovemeyr, ’46 BA, passed away on April 1, 2006. Ms. Hovemeyer was employed by the State of Ohio for many years, working as an executive secretary in the Occupational Therapy Department of Longview State Hospital. Her other employers included General Mills and the inventors of Play-Doh. Ms. Hovemeyer was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II. She was also a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen; her son Eric; and her son Stephen; as well as eight grandchildren.
Robert Pond, ’48 BSB, who helped establish the Palm Springs Air Museum more than a decade ago, passed away in December at the age of 83. Before opening the museum, he established the Planes of Fame East Air Museum at Flying Cloud Field in Eden Prairie, Minn. It closed in 1997 and the collection was moved to Palm Springs. Pond is survived by his wife, their four children, Polly Pond Holley and Harry Brand, both of Minnesota, Angela Pond of Los Angeles and Roseann Brand of Palm Springs; three grandsons and two great-grandchildren.
Agnes Clark, ’49 BSB, passed away on January 7th, 2008.
