ROBERT HANSEN is Associate Professor of Marketing at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. Prior to joining the marketing faculty in 1978, he was a member of the Marketing Department at Ohio State University. His industry experience includes working for Oscar Mayer, NCR Corporation, Business Incentives, and Grant Thornton, International. He is currently on the Board of Directors for Fastenal Company and helped design the curriculum for the Fastenal School of Business. He is a consultant to both business firms and public agencies, and he has published a number of articles and research monographs on topics related to marketing research, consumer behavior and business planning. Hansen's research specialties are developing marketing strategies for public sector services and measuring user satisfaction with transportation services. Hansen has a BS in agricultural sciences and business, an MBA in marketing and quantitative methods and a PhD in marketing, statistics and quantitative methods from the University of Wisconsin.
EDWARD J. JOYCE is Associate Dean of MBA Programs and Professor of Accounting at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Previously he was a faculty member at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Joyce also has lectured at the University of Illinois, the University of Michigan, the University of Glasgow, Scotland, the Warsaw School of Economics, Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand, Fudan University in Shenzen, China, and Lingnan University in Guangzhou, China. He has work experience with General Motors, Rockwell International, and the public accounting firm of Ernst & Young. He received a BSBA from Ohio State University and an MA and PhD in accounting from the University of Illinois.
