Students will receive 15 S/N Carlson School International Business (IBUS 5100) credits for their semester at MBS. Students will need to maintain a full-time enrollment of 5 subjects (50 MBS credits) in order to confer the full 15 credits. Contact your adviser or International Programs for a list of MBS courses that have already been evaluated to meet Carlson School requirements.

This was shown most recently by a team of MBA candidates advancing to the Innovation Challenge Competition finals hosted by American Express, GE, and other major business firms. The team successfully presented several strategies for finding business solutions through online networks for small businesses – and highlights the relevant and applicable educational experience awaiting students at MBS.
Manchester is located just a couple of hours from London by train and offers concentrated urban environment with an abundance of ethnic diversity, delicious and quaint eateries, and a nightlife rivaling that of London. The city is manageable and has a variety of theater and entertainment options. In addition to proximity and cheap flights to other parts of the United Kingdom and greater Europe, there is no shortage of ways to spend time and explore the region. Manchester was the original home of the industrial revolution and has a long and prestigious history. It has undergone tremendous growth in recent years with nearly $1 trillion in public and private investment. In November 2006 the city was awarded the title of Britain’s best city for business in a survey of the country’s 5,000 largest employers.

MBS is able to allocate accommodation to students studying in Manchester. While individual hall preferences cannot be guaranteed, students are encouraged to indicate preferences for location and kitchen equipped or catered options. Applications are submitted to the MBS international office directly. Please note that there are limited rooms available for exchange students. Students should also consider renting private accommodation on a short-term lease. MBS will assist students in finding housing and resources and also with introducing students that can share rooms and save on costs of housing.

Submit a completed application with a $50 application fee, transcript, resume, and essay by the February 28th Priority Deadline prior to the academic year in which you wish to participate. Programs that do not fill following the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling-admissions basis.

Admission to all programs is based on review of your application by the study abroad selection committee. Applications will be reviewed following the deadline and you will be notified of your status by official letter in April. Once selected, you will be asked to pay a $500 deposit in order to confirm your place in the program.
