Jean Moulin Lyon 3 is based in the second largest city of France with more than 1.5 million inhabitants. Lyon 3 has all the advantages of a large city while maintaining a human and familiar feel. The university enrolls more than 22,000 students with approximately 5,000 of those enrolled in business degree programs. There are more than 800 international students at Lyon 3 each year which contributes to the international climate and small groups students experience in the classroom. Students will receive 15 S/N Carlson School International Business (IBUS 5100) credits for their semester at Lyon 3. Students will need to maintain a full-time enrollment of 30 ECTS credits (5 courses) in order to confer the full 15 credits. Contact your adviser or International Programs for a list of CBS courses that have already been evaluated to meet Carlson School requirements.

Carlson School students at the Lyon 3 will enroll in the Study in English in Lyon, France (SELF) program. Students enroll in a mandatory French language and culture course and select 4 additional business subjects. The focus of the program is to improve French language abilities while also building knowledge of international business topics through comparative analysis. Students will take a proficiency test at the Carlson School before departure to determine which French course best suits their ability. The ability to speak French is not a requirement but this is an amazing way to build your skills! Sample elective subjects include:

The International Relations Department at Lyon will assist exchange students in finding housing in either private student residencies or with host families. Students will work with the housing coordinator and apply through that office. There is a 26 euro fee for each student housing application charged by Lyon.

Application materials include the online application form, a resume, and essay. Submit a completed application by the February 28th Priority Deadline prior to the academic year in which you wish to participate. Programs that do not fill following the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling-admissions basis.

Admission to all programs is based on review of your application by the study abroad selection committee. Applications will be reviewed following the deadline and you will be notified of your status by official letter in April. Once selected, you will be asked to pay a $500 deposit in order to confirm your place in the program.
