You will receive 16 S/N Carlson School International Business (IBUS 5100) credits for your semester at Universiteit Maastricht. Students enroll in a total of 4 Maastricht course (2 courses per module) to earn 16 Carlson School credits. Contact your adviser or International Programs for a list of Maastricht courses that have been evaluated to meet Carlson School requirements. You are encouraged to consider alternative courses if appropriate to help set yourself apart.
Courses at Universiteit Maastricht are challenging and reflect real-life challenges faced in business today. Maastricht follows a problem-based learning model which encourages students to work collaboratively to analyze cases, develop innovative approaches, and identify unique methods for seeking solutions. Primary areas of study include Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Organization and Strategy. Students can also pursue specialized topics in Knowledge Development & Distribution, Business Intelligence & Decision Making, and Crisis Management.

Housing »
All exchange students are offered a room at the university guesthouse. There are 350 rooms for 1 or 2 persons and 45 master rooms/studios. All of the buildings are located in the vicinity of the campus and are easily accessible by bike or on foot. Prices vary depending on room preference and availability.
Exchange students have to reserve a room via the on-line reservation system of the
Guesthouse. On this site students will find more information on the specific rooms available. Students who want a room outside the Guesthouse are advised to start looking well in advance, since it is very hard to find a room on the private market (note: these rooms are not furnished!)

Most financial aid may be applied to study abroad. In addition, University of Minnesota students are eligible for education abroad scholarships. Visit the

Application & Admission »
Application materials include the
online application form, a resume, and essay. Submit a completed application by the February 28th Priority Deadline prior to the academic year in which you wish to participate. Programs that do not fill following the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling-admissions basis.
Admission to all programs is based on review of your application by the study abroad selection committee. Applications will be reviewed following the deadline and you will be notified of your status by official letter in April. Once selected, you will be asked to pay a $500 deposit in order to confirm your place in the program.
