Carlson Ventures Enterprise gives students the chance to explore
the world of entrepreneurship with all of its uncertainties, risks and
opportunities. Our projects are mission-critical to the sponsors who
support us, providing ample opportunity for leadership development in
the creative real-world application of classroom lessons.
Students have the opportunity to work with leading companies as they
explore and develop new concepts and businesses under the corporate
umbrella. We also investigate cutting edge technologies developed at
the University of Minnesota to see if they have what it takes to become
commercially viable.
To complement project work, the Ventures Enterprise class
illuminates the mysterious world of venture capital, explores
innovation as a driver of economic growth, and gives students practical
tools for analyzing business plans and pitching ideas. We bring leading
entrepreneurs, investors and business development professionals into
the classroom, giving students the opportunity to expand their
professional network and to learn what it takes to make a venture
successful.
Ventures Enterprise students develop a sense for ventures that are
worth pursuing and learn how to increase a venture’s chances of being
successful. In the end, the tools and experience gained as a Ventures
Enterprise associate allow our students to differentiate themselves in
the market place after graduation. |
