When is the welcome program?
The program is held approximately 10 days - 2 weeks before each semester. The International Programs office will send a schedule to all admitted exchange students.

Do I have to attend the program?
Yes, it's mandatory. In addition to learning important information about classes, registration, housing, billing, and campus life, you'll also have a chance to meet other students and get to know the Twin Cities.

What is the welcome program?
The program is a week-long series of events to help you learn about the University of Minnesota and the Twin Cities. Activities include Carlson School orientation, school tour, International Student & Scholar Services orientation, special academic sessions for Carlson exchange students, welcome party, and other social events.

Will I have any free time before the semester begins?
Yes, of course! While there will be many activities scheduled throughout the week, most evenings are your own. You'll also have a 3-day weekend with no activities scheduled between the end of the welcome program and the beginning of the semester.
