In addition to developing each student's understanding of the principles and techniques of effective financial decision making, the finance major gives students the skills and knowledge required to help businesses, governments, and individuals answer questions regarding raising funds, making investments, evaluating performance, and distributing profits.

At the Carlson School, students have opportunities to learn both inside and outside of the classroom. Through the Investing and Finance Organization (InFO), students discuss today's top financial issues and learn about financial careers.

The Carlson School admits undergraduate students to the program once a year in the fall. While admission is competitive, we carefully assess every applicant's background and accomplishments, as presented in the application materials.
