ITSSWireless Network Printing

 

** PLEASE NOTE ** Wireless network printing is only supported with Microsoft Windows XP Pro


 

The Carlson School of Management provides access to printers via the network for both Undergraduate and Graduate students. To access the printers you need to do the following:

  1. Activate your UMN AD account. This is required to authenticate to the printers.

    If you have not already done so, you can activate your account by going to http://www.umn.edu/dirtools.

    Active Directory settings can be found at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Configure Wireless printing. Set up wireless printing using these instructions or the ones below.
    1. Once your AD account has been activated for at least 30 minutes, open the Run dialog from the start menu
    2. In the Run dialog window type \\csom-print2.ad.umn.edu and select OK      
    3. In the user name and password window that opens, enter AD back slash followed by your x500 (the AD must be capitalized) as your user name, and your x500 password is the password.  You should also check the Remember my password box.
    4. A window with a list of printers will then pop up.  Double-click the printer you wish to install.  Please see the table below for a list of printers students may install.
