FACULTY

 

The UMN Course Guide Tool is an area connected to OneStop where faculty can enter example information for courses they've taught. Instructors can

  • upload an example syllabus
  • input course description information, a break-down of the learning activities in the course, how students were assessed (e.g. exams, reports)
  • upload an instructor biography
  • upload an example video of a learning session or activity and a transcription of the video

Faculty Example

  • To see an example of how the course guide looks on the student view once the information is populated, go to the course guide, select the "Fall 2007" term, input the course "BA" and number "1001."

  • By attending training with ASR, faculty support staff have the possibility to have group-access to their department's faculty.

STUDENTS

 

Students can use the Course Guide Tool to select a course (e.g. MGMT 3001) and then browse the course's various instructors and each instructor's course activities.  This gives students a preview of past syllabi for each instructor, likely learning activities, likely ways learning activities may be assessed (e.g. exams, reports, etc), an instructor biography and possibly a video of the instructor's teaching style or example content.    The course guide tool is available on the right hand navigation panel of UMN Onestop, or directly via the below URL
