Homecoming 2009 Internships
Applications Due October 10

Homecoming is recruiting students to assist in the planning and coordination of Homecoming 2009. Interns will assist in planning, marketing, overseeing, implementing and evaluating Homecoming through the effective and efficient use of personnel, funding, resources, and campus services.  Five students will work together as a team to implement programs. In addition, students will be assigned to chair, recruit, and lead a committee of volunteers with a specific focus related to Homecoming. This is a stipend position. Applications are due October 10.

The Engage! search is now available for Twin Cities students and gives undergraduate students an easy way to intentionally connect with meaningful experiences outside of the classroom. The search accesses websites that are directly related to engagement opportunities, such as learning abroad programs, student organizations, community involvement, undergraduate research, and others, so that students can use one search to explore opportunities from a broad range of sources. Students can tailor their searches to specific academic majors and disciplines, and to their other interests and goals.

Applicants must be JUNIORS, U.S. citizens or nationals, with strong academic records, and should be engaged in community service and/or political activism. The Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school. Campus application deadline: Friday, November 7.


Honors Thesis Info Session

All Honors students planning to graduate in Spring 2010 and after will be required to complete a thesis in order to graduate with Latin Honors. Come find out the details of this requirement and the various paths available to you as you work toward this goal. This session is highly recommended for all juniors participating in Carlson School Honors and the University Honors Program; it is open to interested sophomores and freshmen as well.

Come spend the day with Travelers and discover what opportunities await you! Freshman and sophomores of all majors and backgrounds are invited to attend the Travelers Site Visit. We will provide transportation to and from the Carlson School, at no charge to you. The day will begin with an introduction and breakfast by Travelers executives. Next, you will join functional groups for a job shadow experience (i.e. actuarial, general management, finance, sales/marketing, HR, MIS/IT, etc.). Following lunch, students and Travelers employees will participate in a community service event. Afterwards, students will board the bus back to the Carlson School. Sign up for this event today! Carlson Study Abroad Scholarship applications are now being accepted online. Don't miss this chance to apply for merit and need-based scholarships to support your study abroad experience. Students on the following programs are eligible for this application cycle: Accounting 3001, Global Immersion Spring Semester Exchanges, Winter session and Spring Semester Learning Abroad Center programs, and Winter/Spring outside programs. Awards vary by the quality and quantity of the applicant pool. Students should apply even if they are unsure of their acceptance status on the qualified programs. Career and Internship Fair Grants for Carlson Organizations
Grant Applications Due November 1, 12:00 p.m.

The Carlson School's Career and Internship Fair Committee would like to make a portion of the proceeds from the Career and Internship Fair available to official Carlson School undergraduate student organizations. Grants will range in amount from $500 - $2,000 and are intended to provide financial support for activities that both build Corporate Partnership with the Carlson School and that are available to, and inclusive of, ALL CARLSON SCHOOL STUDENTS (in addition to club members). Robert Strand will speak on his experiences working as a Fulbright Scholar in Scandinavia assessing the impact of corporate responsibility.
