Once inside the section you should see the Carlson logo. You should see a Carlson LMS button (this is what students click to view your LMS files). You should also see three tabs in the upper left of the window. (Build, Teach, Student View). Click the "Build" tab.
In the middle of the page (on the right) should be three action buttons: Add File, Create Folder, Add Content Link.
Create Folders:
WebVista folders act like LMS "sessions." To create a folder, click the "Create Folder" button. Give your folder a title (e.g. Week 1) and click "Save." You should be returned to the page you were on.
Tip: To hide or show "Folders," click the action-link menu next to the folder title and select "hide" or "show." Hiding folders allows you to input files inside without the files showing to students
Add Files:
You can put files inside folders by going inside the folder. After going inside the folder, select "Add File" button and choose the "Browse for File" option.
You should get a pop-up window where you click the "My Computer" and browse to find the file you wish to upload.
Once you have selected the file from your computer and it is uploaded, you may need to select the "Add selected" button.
After successful upload of a content file, a link to the file you have uploaded will be placed on the current WebVista page. Bear in mind that "files" and "links to files" are separate. You can have many links to the same file.
To see a list of files in your WebVista section, be sure to be on the "Build" tab. Then find "Designer Tools" and look for the "File Manager" link.
Return to the HomePage of the WebVista section at any time, by clicking the "Course Content" link in the left navigation menu.
To see a view of what students see, click the "Student View" tab. To go back to creating folders and uploading files, click the "Build" tab again.
