2008-2009 Freshman Degree Requirements

Students who enter the program in Fall 2008 as freshman will be held to the following degree requirements:

ECON 1101 Principles of Microeconomics* (4 credits)
ECON 1102 Principles of Macroeconomics* (4 credits)
MATH 1142 Short Calculus* or MATH 1271, Calculus I* (4 credits)
MGMT 1001 Contemporary Management* (3 credits)
WRIT 1301 or 1401 Freshman Writing, or equivalent* (4 credits)
PSY 1001 Introduction to Psychology (4 credits)
Liberal Education Requirements (see below)


SophomoreYear

Fall Semester:
OMS 2550 Business Statistics: Data Sources, Presentation, and Analysis* (4 credits)
ACCT 2050 Introduction to Financial Accounting* (4 credits)
BA 3000 Career Skills (1 credit)

Spring Semester:

  • Immersion Core:
    • MKTG 3001 Principles of Marketing* (3 credits)
    • FINA 3001 Finance Fundamentals* (3 credits)
    • OMS 3001 Introduction to Operations Management* (3 credits)
    • MGMT 3004 Business Strategy* (3 credits)
  • One additional course of student's choice

International Experience

Major Requirements* (20-26 credits)
New major requirements will be finalized by the end of Spring Semester 2008 and will be posted on this site at that time.


Students who transfer in as Juniors to the program will follow a different path to completion of their requirements.

  • Junior transfer students will take BA 3000 Career Skills during the summer prior to enrollment in the school.
  • Junior transfer students will complete Mgmt 3001 Fundamentals of Management in lieu of Mgmt 1001 Contemporary Management.
  • Transfer students are encouraged not to complete the Immersion Core classes prior to transfer.

Writing Intensive

In addition to freshman writing, students must complete at least four writing intensive courses. Two of the courses must be upper division courses, one of which must be taken in the student's major.
