It's never too early to start planning for an education abroad experience. The International Programs office has a team of advisors who are available to discuss international education options.


First stepsfor your student

  1. Attend the International Experience 101 workshop. Along with an overview of the international experience requirement, it provides useful information about which programs may be right for your student.
  2. Complete the IE 101 advising form.
  3. Read the University of Minnesota Learning Abroad Center's advising handbook (PDF).
  4. Meet with an advisor during walk-in advising hours or contact us to schedule an appointment.
  5. Review the study abroad goals you identified in the IE 101 workshop.
  6. Start researching your options.
