At the Carlson School, we believe the best way to learn about the world is to experience it. In fact, we place such a strong value on international experience for future business leaders that we've made it a graduation requirement.
With programs as short as two weeks or as long as a year – and with a wide range of financial aid and scholarships available – there’s bound to be an option that’s right for your student. The International Programs Office has a dedicated staff to help students with choosing a study abroad program that fits their academic, professional and financial situation. We have, in collaboration with key stakeholders at the university, developed a workshop called IE 101. This workshop was designed to help students build a foundation for planning their study abroad experience. It is offered several times a year and helps to answer questions that students have about program selection, academic and career planning, financial resources and instructions on how to apply.
We know that preparing your student for a study abroad program can be stressful. We are committed to insuring that your student is prepared for their experience abroad and safety of our students is our top priority. All students participating in Carlson School or University programs are required to participate in an extensive orientation program that includes country-specific information, academic and financial planning as well as health and safety. In addition, a feature of our website is a web page specifically dedicated to parents. This is a one stop shop for parents to access information on health and safety abroad, financial planning and contact information for the Carlson School International Programs staff. We encourage you to visit this website to familiarize yourself with these tools.
Studying abroad can provide valuable experiences and qualities, such as self-confidence and independence that give students a head start in the search for future employment. Our dedication to their success begins with a commitment to providing an educational experience that will enrich their lives and propel their careers. We’re here to help make sure that you and your student are doing everything right – and to make sure it will be the adventure of a lifetime.
Warm regards,
