Closed classes and Waitlist process

If a section of a Carlson School course is closed, students are first encouraged to try to utilize an open section of the course.  If this option does not work, students may then add themselves to the waitlist from the One Stop web site.

Waitlists are monitored by the Undergraduate Program office on a regular basis and students are notified via email when a spot becomes available.  It is very important to check your UofM email account on a regular basis and enroll in the class you've been given access to within the time allotted.  If you do not enroll in the class within the time allotted, you will be dropped from the waiting list and your spot will be given to the next person on the list.

If you are not able to add yourself to a waiting list, you may contact the Undergraduate Program office and a staff member will add your name to the list.  Prerequisites are enforced.

The registration system does not allow students to be enrolled in one section and waitlisted for another.  Students may, however, waitlist for more than one section of the same class.

Priority is based on both the student's spot on the waitlist as well as class standing and need for the course.

Waitlists are available only up to the first day of the class.  Once a class has met, admission into a closed section is granted only with instructor approval.
