Leave of Absence

 

Students who plan to leave the Carlson School for one or more semesters must file a Leave of Absence form with the Undergraduate Program office.  If the leave is less than two academic years, students may return and complete the degree requirements they were originally admitted to.  If the leave of absence is for more than two academic years (i.e. four semesters) students must follow new program requirements upon return. 

 

Students who leave for more than one year without filing a Leave of Absence, must follow new degree requirements.

 

Readmission

 

Students who have not been granted a formal leave of absence and who do not register for one or more semesters, excluding summer, will be placed on inactive status.  Students should submit the Application for Readmission form to the Undergraduate Program office, Rm 2-190 Hanson Hall or fax number 612-624-0350.  Students who were in good academic standing at the time they became inactive are generally allowed to return to active status.

 

Carlson School students with a prior BSB degree may return to complete an additional Carlson School major.  Students should submit the Application for Readmission form to the Undergraduate Program office, Rm 2-190 Hanson Hall or fax number 612-624-0350 and indicate the major they wish to complete.  Students returning Fall 2009 or later, regardless of when their first degree was earned, will be held to the current major requirements, revised in 2008.  Please note that an additional diploma will not be awarded but the completion of an additional major will be added to the transcript.
