Filing a Petition

The Carlson School Undergraduate Scholastic Committee meets weekly to review scholarship petitions.

In order to assure that the petition is considered completely, it is important for students to follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Download a copy of the Petition for Students in the Undergraduate and Professional Programs from the One Stop website, or pick a copy up in the Undergraduate Program office.
  2. Provide a typed or clearly written explanation of your request in the Request and Reason/Explanation fields on the petition form.  Attach additional sheets if necessary.
  3. Include documentation in support of your request as noted below.  Please note that the Scholastic Committee does not meet individually with students to review their petition so it is very important foryou to be as clear and detailed in your request as possible.
  4. Turn in the petition form and all supporting documentation to the front desk in the Undergraduate Program office, Rm 2-190 Hanson Hall.  Petitions turned in prior to 4 pm Tuesday will be reviewed on Wednesday morning.  Those turned in after 4 pm on Tuesday will not be reviewed until the following week.'
  5. Students will receive an email from a scholastic committee member when their petition is ready to be picked up.  It is important for students to pick up their copy of the petition in the Undergraduate Program office, as action items are often necessary on the student's part.
