MBA Finance Club


Mission

The MBA Finance Club at the Carlson School of Management is committed to fostering an education of careers (and the required skills) in the corporate finance and financial services fields. In conjunction with the Financial Services Initiative and the Carlson Funds Enterprise, we are focused on garnering career connections for students interested in finance while growing the prominence of the Finance Department at one of the world's most elite business schools.

  • Event: Target Speaker Series - Paul Karos, former Wall St. airline analyst, former President of Equities/Investment Banking at Piper Jaffray, and former hedge fund manager. Currently a consultant.

  • Event: Ecolab Site Visit
  • Place: Ecolab Headquarters, St. Paul, MN

        The intent of this event is to give Carlson MBAs an opportunity to experience the

        Ecolab culture and corporate finance in general- up close and personal. Ecolab is

        a global leader in their industry and offers a competitive environment that attracts

        world class employees.

  • April 18th, 2008 2:00pm
  • Event: Allianz Life Site Visit
  • Place: Allianz Life Headquarters, Minneapolis, MN

        The idea is to give corporate exposure to the students and allow them the opportunity
        to speak with individuals within the Allianz Investment Management (AIM) Department.
        This is a great recruiting opportunity, allowing for face to face interaction for potential
        internships and possible full-time MBA rotational positions. The event will include a
        campus tour of Allianz and a panel discussion. A list of questions has been requested
        by Allianz prior to the event for each of the panelists to review. The intent is to have
        a more in-depth conversation, getting beyond the general surface questions typically
        asked at many events.
