Location: Alajuela, Costa Rica

Objective: This program explores in depth the concepts and principles of green business. The course is designed to familiarize students with global environmental challenges businesses face, especially in the Latin American context, and to provide tools as to how to deal with those challenges. Students will learn about global environmental problems and policies and about the methods companies are employing to cope and respond. U.S. and international faculty lead sessions that delve into issues of sustainable development and environmental strategy for business around the world.

Please note this class is NOT a substitute for the Ethics core requirement. Students are evaluated by both Carlson and INCAE faculty.
This program has a demanding schedule and academic standards are high. Students will take classes from a Carlson faculty member and INCAE faculty members. Tours, field trips, and site visits complement class sessions, but the majority of time is spent on the INCAE campus. Students are paired in multicultural teams for group work and case presentations. Please contact the Carlson Global Institute for a copy of a sample schedule.
Students are housed in bungalows on the INCAE campus and will share a room with one or two classmates of their same gender. Because networking and community-building are key parts of the program, single room are not available. Bungalows include a shared kitchen, bathroom, and living facilities. Guests are not permitted during the program. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday–Friday are provided in the INCAE cafeteria. Please note the meals are not provided on weekends and you will need to plan accordingly.
Fees are based on estimates and may change due to international economic factors. This information applies to 2012-2013 programs.

The application starts on March 15 and the priority deadline is June 15.
Applications for programs that do not fill by the priority deadline will be accepted on a rolling basis until September 1 or until full.
Applications will be reviewed and students will be informed of their status via email within 4 weeks of the priority deadline.
