Jay Lipe is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Carlson School of Management. He received his MBA in Marketing from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and has taught thousands of graduate students, undergraduate students and executive education learners.
As a Brand Assistant, Assistant Brand Manager, Brand Manager and Brand Marketing Director, he was fortunate to have worked on branded product lines like Honey Nut Cheerios®, Gold Medal Flour®, Bacos®, Select Comfort’s Sleep Number® mattress and others.
His consulting activities include developing branding and marketing programs for Fortune 500 and growing organizations including General Mills, Toro, Land O Lakes, Jostens and the Minnesota Historical Society.
He is an expert in the area of strategic marketing and has authored two books, The Marketing Toolkit for Growing Businesses (2002) and Stand Out from the Crowd; Secrets to Crafting a Winning Company Identity (2006). His opinions have been cited in national media including Inc. Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine and United Press International.
