All international students attending the University of Minnesota are required to enroll in the University of Minnesota's Student Health Benefit Plan. The cost is approximately $990 per semester.
For plan details, please refer to the following resources:
The Boynton Health Service is an on-campus health clinic available to all students. Visit Boynton Health Service for additional details about location, contacts and services.
The University of Minnesota requires you to complete the 3-step checklist for incoming international students found on Boynton Health Service - International Students. It is recommended that you complete step one by obtaining the required immunizations at home and completing the online immunization form before you arrive in Minnesota. This will help ensure that your course enrollment is not delayed. If you are not able to have the required tests/immunizations ahead of your arrival you can complete them on campus during Welcome Program.
Please see the ISSS safety resources page for additional information about personal safety.
If you feel you are in immediate physical danger, notify the police by dialing 9-1-1 from any phone.
