This course examines employment and labor relations law in terms of its potential impact on working people. Specifically, the course will examine four major topics:
(1) discrimination and fair employment practices; (2) labor relations and safety requirements; (3) compensation, communication and accommodation mandates; and (4) wrongful discharge and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. Tuition is $100.

Isolation and apathy are enemies of strong unionism. This session will focus on the creation of union democracy and union strength. Do we currently project our unions as insurance agents or agents of change? This mostly interactive one-day session will focus on these important questions and on the critical role of person-to-person organizing in building union strength. Tuition is $50.
