Admissions
Housed in the Carlson School and administered by the University of Minnesota Graduate School, the Master of Business Taxation (MBT) program is rigorous, challenging, and fulfilling. We look for students who have a strong academic background and a commitment to improving their professional communities. We also expect all students to have a strong familiarity with the fundamentals of business management.
Both the MBT program and Graduate School review applications and consider the following factors:
- Academic record as evidenced by transcripts
- Test scores (GMAT or LSAT)
- Additional factors, such as special circumstances, work experience, and certification (CPA, CMA, CIA)
All applicants must also have an undergraduate college degree in any field. After MBT has reviewed the application and made its recommendation, the Graduate School makes the official decision and will notify you. The entire review process takes four to six weeks.
Deadlines
Deadlines for all materials are:
- June 15 (fall semester)
- October 15 (spring semester)
- March 15 (summer term)
