Deadlines and Checklists

All Full-Time MBA students begin the program in the fall semester. To receive full consideration for scholarships and fellowships, we encourage you to apply early. All materials must be postmarked by the deadline. We will hold incomplete applications for review in a subsequent batch. Deadlines that occur on a holiday or weekend will be extended through the next business day.

Deadlines for All U.S. and International Applicants

You must complete the application online.

Transcripts

Provide the name of each institution you attended with complete information. Transcripts should be sent to the MBA program office.

GMAT or GRE Score

A GMAT or GRE General Test that is not more than five years old is required for admission to the Full-Time MBA program. The GMAT must be submitted to be considered for a scholarship award; the GRE cannot be used as an alternate for scholarship awards.

For GMAT, arrange for the testing service to send an official score report to the MBA program office, code D2N-VJ-15. Results normally arrive 2-3 weeks after the test. For GRE, arrange for the testing service to send an official score report to us using institution code 8387. Results may take up to 8 weeks to arrive.

Professional References

Use the online application to provide the names of three professional references.

Personal Statement

We require a personal statement of career goals and your objectives in pursuing an MBA degree; details can be found in the online application.

The personal statement questions are the following:

Briefly describe your short-term and long-term career goals. Why are you choosing to pursue an MBA at this time in your career, and what are you hoping to accomplish by doing so?
Why are you interested in pursuing an MBA at the Carlson School of Management?
What do you feel makes you a strong candidate for the program? How will you contribute to the MBA Program overall?

English Language Testing Score (if applicable)

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International Language Testing System (IELTS), and the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) are all accepted.

Application Fee

The application fee is $60 (non-refundable) for U.S. citizens; $90 for international applications and U.S. residents with foreign credentials. Your application fee will be waived if you have been on active duty in the U.S. military within three years of submitting your MBA application.

Current Resume

Submit a current resume that includes job responsibilities and accomplishments.

Interviews

Interviews for the Full-Time program are by invitation only. Due to this process, there is no set date for interviews granted after an admissions deadline. We highly recommend that candidates attend their interview in person in order to schedule a class visit and current student lunch as well. If you are unable to attend your interview in person, arrangements can be made for a phone or Skype interview.
