Carlson School Signs Partnership with CFA Institute

Monday, November 01, 2010

The Carlson School of Management was officially designated a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute University Partner at a signing ceremony during the CFA Society of Minnesota's annual New Charterholder Dinner on October 28.

The partnership, one of only 50 in the Americas, recognizes the Carlson School as a globally diverse, high-profile institution that covers a significant portion of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge and embraces the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct in its degree programs.

To qualify for the designation a school's curriculum must be closely tied to professional practice and be well suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA exams.

Professor Robert Goldstein, finance department chair at the Carlson School, and Bob McLean, head of the CFA Institute's university relations, signed the official Partner Program documents.

The signing, held at the Radisson Plaza Minneapolis Hotel, was held in conjunction with a ceremony that recognized more than 75 candidates for their successful advancement to earn the CFA designation. Marketplace Money's Chris Farrell was the event's keynote speaker.
