Professor Akshay Rao has been elected president of the Policy Board of the Journal of Consumer Research. Rao, the General Mills Chair in Marketing, will serve a one-year term effective January 1, 2013.
Founded in 1974, the Journal of Consumer Research publishes scholarly research that describes and explains consumer behavior. Empirical, theoretical, and methodological articles spanning fields such as psychology, marketing, sociology, economics, communications, and anthropology are featured in this interdisciplinary journal. It is the premier consumer behavior oriented journal in the field. Original scholarship that appears in JCR is routinely featured in major media outlets all over the world.
The policy board crafts the direction of the journal and engages in governance including selecting its next editor.
