Carlson School Lockers are Available Stop by the Undergraduate Program Office, Hanson Hall 2-190 no earlier than the first day of school to rent a locker for the academic school year. Cost is $20 (cash or check) for the year; please have your student ID with you. Half and full size lockers are available on a first come first serve basis.

ACADEMICS
New 1 Credit Internship Class Online! Open to Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors
Make the most of your internship, and earn credit at the same time! Through this online class, you'll examine and reflect on your internship experience. Among the many things you'll accomplish will be to:
1. Tie your internship to your personal and career goals.
2. Learn what it means to be a "professional" working in professional environments.
3. Evaluate your internship performance and accomplishments, and get feedback from others.
4. Develop a strong resume that demonstrates your knowledge and skills. Learn how to incorporate your internship experiences into a resume.
Eligible students: This class is open to all University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. Your internship must take place while you're enrolled in this class, and must be at least 120 hours over the semester.
Apply for Your Degree If you are completing your degree this fall 2009, you must apply to graduate by Tuesday, September 22. The online undergraduate degree application is available on the OneStop web site under the Degree Planning link.
Fall 2009 graduates will be invited to participate in the May 2010 Carlson School Commencement Ceremony.

SquashScholars An After-School Academic Enrichment Program
This is based in Minneapolis and combines tutoring, mentoring, and the game of squash for middle and high school students. Our primary goal is to help students dramatically improve their academic performance and athletic skills leading to personal growth, high school graduation, and success in college or other endeavors.
SquashScholars is a non-profit organization based on the U of M campus. SquashScholars is currently looking for a student CEO to help run and shape the organization. Second Annual International Photo Contest—It’s Underway! Submit content to the International Program Office

Submit photography from your global experience for the chance to win cool prizes and Carlson School fame!
This year’s categories include: Cultural Interaction, Stunning Landscape/City-Scape, No Words Could Describe: A special category for photos that speak for themselves, abstract/artistically rendered photos are acceptable for entry.
• Only one photo submission per category is allowed
• All Carlson students, faculty or staff are eligible
• When submitting, please include your name, contact information, university status (student, faculty or staff), location details of photo, category of photo you are entering and a caption (if necessary)
• Please submit your photos to csomip@umn.edu subject line “Photo Contest Submission” or you can burn the digital photo to a CD and submit it in person at the International Program Office (2-210) Attn: Theresa Heath.
• Each photo must be submitted with a signed photo release form found in the program office to be considered for the competition. This form can be submitted in person at CSOM 2-210 or over email (we will send one to you if you request it).
• Please note, CDs will not be returned and printed photography will not be accepted.
Voting will take place September 14 - 18 with details following, and winners announced on September 30. Please email csomip@umn.edu with any questions or concerns.

Compete in the Nationwide Fisher Biz Quiz Challenge
Application Deadline Friday, September 18 - 4:30 p.m.
Represent the Carlson School and compete among top business schools at The Ohio State University of the 4th annual Biz Quiz Challenge. This unique opportunity provides students with an eight week subscription to the Wall Street Journal that students are "quizzed" on at the competition. The competition is televised in Ohio and contestants are eligible to win numerous prizes and scholarships.

Senior Case Competition - Attention Carlson School Seniors
Registration Deadline Tuesday, September 22 - Hanson Hall 2-190
The Senior Case Competition is quickly approaching. This competition will give you and your team the chance to prove your business expertise by evaluating a business case and developing and presenting your own solution to a faculty judging panel. The Senior Case Competition will be held Friday, September 25, 2009. Selected finalists from Septembers competition will be sent to compete at additional prestigious competitions, one of which we expect to be international.
Eligible students must be Carlson School seniors who have completed at least 90 credits, have a 3.0 GPA, and completed all or most of the core classes. Select finalists must hold a valid passport by September 25, 2009 to be eligible for the international competition.
As a finalist, all registration, travel, accommodation, and meal expenses are paid on your behalf. To qualify be sure to register your team of four Carlson School Seniors by Tuesday, September 22 in the Undergraduate office (Hanson Hall 2-190).

Did you know that the U of M is committed to reduce annual campus energy usage by 5 percent by the end of 2010? A 5 percent reduction will save the University $2.25 million each year and result in 25,000 fewer tons of CO2 being released into the atmosphere. Meeting this goal will require a campus wide effort.

Delta Epsilon Chi is the collegiate version of DECA, an association of marketing students.
