Securian Leadership Lecture Series Presents Orlando “Tubby” Smith Wednesday, October 14, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Carlson School 3M Auditorium Orlando "Tubby" Smith joined the Gophers in March 2007 as the 16th Head Basketball Coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Smith came to Minnesota after having spent the past 10 seasons (1997-2007) as the head coach at the University of Kentucky. In his first season at Minnesota, Smith finished with a record of 20-14 and during the 2008-2009 season, he finished with a record of 22-11. Tickets are required for entrance into this event and lunch following the event. (The retreat will be offered to graduate students during the Spring 2010 semester). CBYX is funded by the US and German governments for students in all career fields, and does not require any prior German language knowledge! Applicants in business, engineering, scientific, vocational, technical, and agricultural fields are especially encouraged to apply. Participants spend a year studying and working in their fields while completely immersed in the German language and culture.
