Gerald 'BSB '52 and Marilyn Mitchell are committed to help and assist students who wish to pursue excellence in business education at the Carlson School. In appreciation for the education Jerry received, and with a strong desire to be of assistance to students in meeting the financial obligations of their educations, Jerry and Marilyn have stepped forward to once again offer a fellowship for second year MBA students.

Awards will be announced in March 2009 and credits to the recipients student account will be credited for fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters.
Awards: 2 awards for $5000 (1 award for a female student and 1 award for a male student)

- Short essay (no longer than one single-spaced page) describing your background in leadership within the Carlson School, the University of MN, or the Twin Cities community. Describe your volunteer commitments to charitable projects, either current or past. Briefly describe your financial need, and tell us about yourself.
Selection Criteria:
- MBA grade point average after the first year core: 3.4 or higher and a graduate of any Minnesota high school
Additional preference given for:
- Students whose undergraduate degree is from the University of MN
- Students who have a connection of any kind to University of MN athletics
