Sparboe Family Entrepreneur MBAFellowship

 

The Sparboe Family MBA Fellowship is a merit-based award for students with the intent of choosing entrepreneurship as their career portfolio. Robert Sparboe (1931-2005), founded the Sparboe Companies, which grew into one of the nations largest egg producers, with operations in MN, IA, CA, and CO.  Mr Sparboe was a member of the Carlson School Board of Overseers.  Preference is given to students with a background in the food industry or agricultural business, and/or to students who have expressed an interest (as demonstrated in the classroom, co-curricular activities, prior professional experience, and entrepreneurial spirit) in the success of the food industry or agricultural business.

Awards will be announced in March 2010 and credits to the recipients student account will be credited for fall 2010 and spring 2011 semesters.

Award:  2 awards at $5000.00

  4. Essay (no longer than one single-spaced page) stating your entrepreneurial experience and professional aspirations as an entrepreneur and why you think you should be the recipient of the award. (Essay should be two pages maximum.) 

Selection criteria: 
This is a merit based fellowship will be given to student(s) from one of the following: (1) United States citizens, (2) permanent residents of the United States, or (3) in the United States lawfully on a non-temporary basis. Further preference will be given to those with a background in food industry or agricultural business, &/or an expressed interest (as demonstrated in the classroom, co-curricular activities, and prior professional experience and entreprenerial spirit) in success in the food industry or agricultural business arenas.
