Cerebration: Transcending Boundaries
The Global Business Plan Competition hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Registration period- October 29-November 19, 2007

The competition gives participants the opportunity to work on live cases based on 3 Asian companies (the Case Sponsors) that are seeking ideas for overseas expansion. The competition begins with registration, where participants form a team and choose their preferred Case Sponsor based on the Case Summaries on our website. At the close of the registration period, complete Case Studies are mailed to all participating teams based on which they will write comprehensive business plans and compete for a chance for a fully paid trip to Singapore
and present their strategy to their chosen Case Sponsor.

Commencement 2008

The Carlson School of Management will hold its commencement ceremony for graduate programs on Monday, May 19, 2008 at 9:00am.  Jeff Greenfield, host of the PBS series CEO Exchange and senior analyst for CBS News, will deliver the keynote address.  Further details and invitations for the commencement ceremony will come from the program office later in spring.

International Programs Walk In Advising Hours
Monday - Thursday,1:00pm - 4:00pm
The International Programs office offers weekly walk-in advising hours during the semester to assist you in your study abroad planning. We are excited to offer walk in advising Monday through Thursdays from 1:00pm - 4:00 PM. Stop in to CSOM 4-104 to learn more!

2nd Annual International Quiz Bowl
November 13th, 12:00 - 1:00pm

Test your knowledge of the world! Carlson's Office of International Programs is looking for 10 teams of six individuals. Each team will have faculty and/or staff and students. Team members will work together to answer a series of questions. Organize your friends and coworkers soon and submit your name or those will be on your team - (you do not have to be part of a team to participate - individuals are encouraged to sign up) to Anita Stiles by November 1st. Changing Times: Leadership Studies and the Leadership Industry

Barbara Kellerman, a leadership professor from Harvard University's Center for Public Leadership, will talk at the Carlson School's 3M Auditorium, 321 19th Avenue South in Minneapolis. She will share her observations on how the study of leadership, the pedagogy of leadership, and the money-making leadership industry have evolved over the past 25 years. Kellerman's speech is sponsored by the Center for Integrative Leadership as part of the 2007 Leadership Scholarship Conference. Though the general conference is not open to the public, this speech is free and all are invited.

Elite Eight Case Competition - Hosted by the Carlson School of Management. This competition brings together top brand management students, professionals and academics from across the country for a three-day competition and discussion series highlighting the challenges facing brand managers in today’s competitive marketplac. Competition will be November 15-17 with optional interviews scheduled November 18. See the 2007 detailed schedule for more information.
