Host an event in recognition of National Celebrate Diversity Month!
April is National Celebrate Diversity Month and the Office of Diversity Initiatives would like to extend an invitation to student groups within the Carlson School of Management to host an event celebrating diversity.  Limited funds are available to Carlson School student groups to host  an event. Request funding by submitting a one page event proposal including proposed date, topic, sponsoring student group,  brief event description and  estimated budget  to mcca0375@umn.edu by Friday, February 1st.

Financing your MBA survey - please participate
You are invited to participate in a research study that examines the effect of tuition financing on career outcomes of full-time and part-time MBA students. This research will improve our understanding of the returns to investments in continuing education as well as guide curriculum development in the Carlson MBA programs!

Big Ten Case Competition
Each spring students in the Big 10 Conference meet at the Fisher College of Business for a friendly competition known as the Big Ten Case Competition. One team from each school is given 24 hours to analyze and present on a complex business case. The MBA Student Affairs Office is now accepting applications from interested students. For more information on applying for a spot on the team, please contact Bryan Hauhe, hauhe001@umn.edu.

Canadian Leadership Program, February 1 Deadline
The Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa has invited Carlson to nominate a student to participate in the Canadian Leadership Orientation Program, a week long program June 1-6, 2008 on Canada-U.S. Business and Economic linkages for MBA students from over 20 leading U.S. business schools. Interested candidates must submit the following to ruzek010@umn.edu by Friday, February 1:
1) Current resume
2) Letter of application outlining their interest and objectives in participating in the program
***Applicants need to be American citizens completing the first year of their MBA program.***

Classes on Caucus Night - February 5, 2008
State law, Section 202A.19, Subdivision 3, gives the Board of Regents the authority to allow classes and other events to be held on caucus night.  At its December 2005 meeting, the Board of Regents approved a resolution authorizing the University to schedule classes on caucus night, classes scheduled to meet on caucus night are scheduled with the clear expectation that instructors will make reasonable accommodations for students who will be attending their party caucus.
