Fifth Annual Minority MBA Case Competition
February 27th - March 1st, 2009

The Carlson School has been invited to the Fifth Annual Minority MBA Case Competition, hosted by the Office of Minority Student Services, Fisher College of Business (Ohio State). The case will address business issues with diverse implications at either a national or international level. The purpose of Key Foundation's minority emphasis is to highlight students from historically underrepresented populations, though all MBA students are eligible to be considered. If interest in the competition exceeds capacity, the MBA Programs Office will facilitate selection of the team.  If you would like to be considered for participation in this case competition, please fill out the form on www.carlsonschool.umn.edu/cccalendar.

Fill the Bus - Monday, December 1st
"Fill the Bus," a campus-wide clothing drive, will take place on Monday, December 1, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. To assist in the clothing drive, donations will be accepted the week of November 24th in designated areas near the Graduate Business Career Center and the MBA Programs Office. Students, faculty, staff and surrounding community members are encouraged to donate. Although new or gently used winter clothes are preferred, any clothing item of any season will be accepted.

STUDENT AFFAIRS

International Photo Calendar on Sale NOW!
The International Programs office is proud to announce the release of its second annual International Photo Calendar! Calendars feature a selection of photos from around the world captured by student, staff, and faculty of the Carlson School. Calendars are available at the International Programs office, CSOM 2-210, for $12.00 (plus tax). The calendars make great gift items and with every five that you purchase, you will receive one for free! All proceeds from the calendar will go to support scholarships for study abroad opportunities. For more details, visit our website at: www.carlsonschool.umn.edu/internationalprograms

Appetizers on Us at Corner Bar!
We know that some of the best networking often happens informally after classes end. To help support community and social opportunities, the MBA Programs Office has arranged an agreement with Corner Bar to support groups of students with partial funds for non-alcohol purchases. All you need to do is identify the date your group of MBAs is getting together and the names of those in your party. Have a group leader email this information to Jessica McLain (mclai003@umn.edu) for consideration at least 2 days in advance! If approved, a voucher would be picked up in the MBA Programs office, 1-110.

Heading home on Break? Want to help Carlson recruit the Class of 2011?
Carlson MBA Admissions has begun recruiting applicants for the Full-Time MBA Class of 2011 and have just completed an extensive tour of 16 countries and 33 cities throughout the world. But as always, the most successful recruiting we can do is connecting prospective students with our current students and we would greatly appreciate your help. Please call Pat McCarthy, Associate Director of Admissions at 612-626-2954 or via email at mccar390@umn.edu for more information.
