(B Term, 5:45-9:05 p.m., Tuesday; 2 credits)

What is Web 2.0? Is it a fad or a set of principles with lasting business values? Where is the money in it? How can firms use Web 2.0 technologies to harness the wisdom of crowds to innovate, to engage consumers, and to encourage collaboration? Many firms spend large amounts of money to host online communities and fail. Why? What can your firms do to succeed? In this course we work together to answer these questions through a combination of readings, discussion, case analyses, and hands-on projects. For more details on the course, contact the instructor Professor Yuqing (Ching) Ren at chingren@umn.edu.

Have a group leader email this information to Jessica McLain, mclai003@umn.edu, for consideration at least 2 days in advance.
