Networking Breaks Begin Tonight!
Monday, February 16 , 7:00 - 7:30 p.m.
Carlson School Atrium
Networking breaks provide an opportunity for students to meet and connect with fellow classmates, faculty, and staff. These events include snacks and beverages and are offered during regular class breaks. All networking break events will be held in the Carlson School Atrium. Weeknight events will be held from 7:00 - 7:30 p.m. and the Saturday event will be from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Carlson MBA Charity Auction

Please join us at the 2009 MBA Charity Auction! The MBA Charity Auction is a unique opportunity to spend an evening socializing with members of the whole Carlson community, including the Full-Time, Part-Time, and Executive MBA programs, as well as faculty, staff, and alumni. New Assistant Director, Executive Coach!
The Graduate Business Career Center (GBCC) welcomes Claudia Melo as its new Assistant Director, Executive Coach.  Claudia will provide individualized coaching to MBA students and will collaborate with the GBCC team to develop and implement programs that meet the career service needs of MBA students.

Most recently, Claudia has been a Senior Career Counselor and Advisor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. She has considerable experience in career planning and job search strategy. She also served as a staff attorney for the Youth Advocacy Center of Covenant House in New Jersey and was an associate at the Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. law firm in Boston.

Claudia is a graduate of the Northeastern University School of Law, receiving her Juris Doctorate in 2000.  She received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in 1995.  She is a member of the Twin Cities Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBA's and has served on several committees of the National Association for Law Placement.

Leadership Advisory Board- Call for Nominations!
The Part-Time MBA Leadership Advisory Board is currently accepting applications to fill upcoming vacancies beginning in May. The Board serves as a liaison between the students and Carlson School leadership and acts as a strategic advisory board to improve the quality, value, and community of the program. Application for Degree Forms Deadline!
Monday, March 2, by 7:30 p.m.
If you plan on graduating between now and August 2009 and you wish to participate in the May 2009 commencement exercises, you must complete the Application for Degree and submit it to the MBA Programs Office NO LATER than Monday, March 2nd at 7:30 p.m.

Class of 2009 - Graduation Information
Grad Fest this year is March 25 and 26. If you are planning to join us at graduation, caps and gowns can be ordered at Grad Fest or online at bookstore.umn.edu/grad. If you have questions regarding graduation visit the graduation webpage.

UCard Access Request Form
If you are having difficulty accessing the Carlson School breakout rooms or the graduate student lounge, you can now complete an access request form online. We require that this form is filled out completely. Once the form is submitted you can expect to receive access within 36 hours. Assessing Your Career Direction Using the MBTI and Strong Interest Inventory

The MBTI provides information on your unique personality style; how you think, communicate and interact with others and the types of careers that would successfully leverage this style. The inventory provides an in depth assessment of your interests and connects them to a broad range of occupations and preferred work environments. Corner Bar
We know that some of the best networking often happens informally after classes end. To help support community and social opportunities, the MBA programs office has arranged an agreement with Corner Bar to provide students with a voucher to purchase food or non-alcoholic beverages. All you need to do is identify the date your group of MBAs will be getting together and the names of those in your party. Have a group leader email this information to Jessica McLain, mclai003@umn.edu, for consideration at least 2 days in advance.
