Call for Commencement Speaker Nominations
Nominations Due by Friday, March 20, by 4:30 p.m.
We are seeking nominations for a student speaker at the Carlson School Graduate Commencement Ceremony on Monday, May 18. The speaker must be able to reflect the broad impact of graduate education at the Carlson School and be cleared by their program office to participate in the 2009 commencement ceremony. Nominations are welcome from students, staff or students. Self-nominations may be submitted as well. The Part-Time MBA Leadership Advisory Board is currently accepting applications to fill upcoming vacancies beginning in May. Part-Time MBA Student of the Year Awards
Deadline April 3, by 4:30 p.m.
Any Part-Time MBA student graduating in the current academic year (September 2008-August 2009) is eligible to be considered for the Part-Time MBA Student of the Year awards, recognizing the contributions of Part-Time MBA students to the Carlson School both inside and outside the classroom. We encourage self-nominations or nominations submitted by Carlson faculty, staff, and students. Click here for more information.

Deadline for Application April 3
The Carlson Companies Scholarship was established to provide a special educational opportunity for Carlson Company employees, their children and grandchildren at the University of Minnesota's Carlson School of Management. The scholarship award includes the cost of tuition and fees for one academic year and may be renewed provided the recipient is in good academic standing and is making acceptable progress towards completion of a Carlson School degree. Applications can be obtained by contacting Trish Goodchild at the Carlson Companies Human Resource office at 763-212-1779.

Online registration begins March 23rd-April 3rd
Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has developed a case competition specifically for U of M students. This Case Competition will challenge students from MBA, MHA and MPH programs to work together in small teams (3-6 people) to develop solutions to a contemporary issue faced by Medtronic that requires diverse industry expertise. The 1st place team will walk away with $6,000 and the 2nd place team will win $3,000.  With a maximum of 8 teams competing, this is an excellent opportunity to earn some extra book money.
