Small Group Internship Search Sessions
Monday March 30 - Thursday, April 2
12:00 - 1:00 p.m., CSOM 1-136

The GBCC will be holding small group internship search sessions each day next week over the lunch hour.The purpose of these sessions is to explore new and additional ideas for finding internship opportunities. If you have suggestions to offer, questions to ask, or just want to listen, please attend. The group will meet Monday through Thursday from 11:45 a.m. -1:00 p.m. No need to RSVP. You are invited to join one or all of the sessions.

Carlson School Student Survey
Complete survey by Friday, April 10
The Consulting Enterprise is conducting a survey of all current students. The information collected through this survey will help us with our recommendations to the Alumni Relations team regarding efforts to improve the school’s alumni engagement activities.

Student Highlight
Congratulations goes out to MBA student Kari Niedfeldt-Thomas who has been selected as one of the finalists in the Access: Voice of the Next Generation student essay contest presented by Net Impact and sponsored by FedEx. The three prize winners will be announced in April and the winning essay will appear in Access Review, the annual business magazine published by FedEx. Medtronic Interdisciplinary Healthcare Case Comp Thursday, April 16 - Saturday, April 18, CSOM
Online registration begins March 23 - April 3
Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has developed a case competition specifically for U of M students. This Case Competition will challenge students from MBA, MHA and MPH programs to work together in small teams (3-6 people) to develop solutions to a contemporary issue faced by Medtronic that requires diverse industry expertise. The 1st place team will walk away with $6,000 and the 2nd place team will win $3,000.  With a maximum of 8 teams competing, this is an excellent opportunity to earn some extra book money. Foreclosures and Commercial Real Estate

How can we finance the venture?  Where is the money?

Carlson MBA '04 graduate Andrew Kraling knows real estate prices are low and government money was injected, but banks are still unwilling to lend. Join us to discuss financing models for the purchase of bank-owned real estate!  Andrew will explain how to acquire financing for commercial properties in a not-so-traditional, apply-at-the-bank approach. He also will shed some light on entity structuring resources and the foreclosure process.
