If you were "Taking Care of Business" during Business Week 2009, you had a chance to experience the most anticipated undergraduate event of the year! This year is the 50th anniversary of Business Week and will surely be an event to remember. Becoming a committee chair is a great way to be a part of this exciting week and the executive committee that plans it.

Now Hiring- Undergraduate Program Office Communications and Marketing Assistant
The Carlson Undergraduate Program Office is accepting applications for a communications and marketing assistant for the 2009-2010 school year to work 10-15 hours per week. Web page development experience preferred. Submit a resume and cover letter in the UG Office in Hanson Hall 2-190 by 4:30 on or before Monday, May 4.

5th Annual Multicultural Celebration

The Carlson School supports the 5th Annual Multicultural Celebration to honor U of M graduates, sponsored by the University's Office for Equity and Diversity and the Student Excellence in Academics and Multiculturalism (SEAM). The event will take place Saturday, May 9 at 1:00 pm at Ted Mann Concert Hall. How Women Can Use Money to Take Charge of Their Lives

Come gain wisdom from Ruth Hayden, a nationally recognized financial consultant, educator and author based in St. Paul. For over 24 years, Hayden has taught classes that challenge women to take charge of their financial future. Ruth Hayden will present, "Reaching Your Dreams: How Women Can Use Money to Take Charge of Their Lives." A dessert reception and book signing will follow the lecture in Mayo Memorial Auditorium.

Event provides business start-up advice, tips for potential Minnesota Cup participants

The  Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management is hosting a 90-minute session on business planning and new venture financing on Thursday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. in room 1-106 of Hanson Hall. Dileep Rao - columnist, author and Carlson School instructor – will lead this one-time session developed for Minnesota entrepreneurs who would like advice on how to develop a business plan and determine the right amount and type of financing for their business.

Minnesota Cup Founders Dan Mallin and Scott Litman will also be on hand to share their thoughts on how to stand out and win this prestigious competition. MN CPCU Scholarships
The Minnesota Chapter of CPCU Scholarship Foundation will be selecting recipients for the Educational Scholarships for 2009. Three awards of $2000 each will be awarded this year. Students in insurance and risk management or related fields are eligible to apply. A new organization is coming to Carlson School that will focus on the non-profit, government, and social responsibility industry. New January Study Abroad Program in India!
January 2010 - IDSC 3001 Information Systems - An International Perspective!

International Programs is excited to announce this new study abroad program which will combine study at the Carlson School during Fall Term B, with two weeks in Delhi and Hyderabad, India. The course introduces students to what a business manager should know about information systems. It is set in the context of India, one the fastest growing emerging markets and a global hub for the outsourcing of IT and IT enabled services. Green Biz - New CSOM Student Organization

Green Biz became an official Carlson School of Management student organization on Earth Day, April 22, 2009. The mission of this group is to reduce the Carlson School's environmental footprint and promote ecological sustainability in the global business community.
