Admission Process

Our application is done entirely online using Apply Yourself, with the exception of official transcripts and test scores. Please list PhD Business Administration as your major field. In the Department/Program form please include your area of concentration; Accounting, Finance, Information & Decision Sciences, Marketing, Strategic Management & Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain & Operations, or Work & Organizations.

The application deadline for admission is December 31.

If you are applying for the Marketing Concentration please have your application completed by December 15th.

Application Fee

All applicants must submit an application fee. The fee is set by the Graduate School and cannot be waived or deferred. The current fee is $95 for international applicants and $75 for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. The fee is paid online when you submit your application.

Application Checklist

At the end of your application process, please ensure you have completed all of the following:

  • Unofficial transcripts have been uploaded via Apply Yourself
  • Official GMAT/GRE , TOEFL / IELTS / MELAB (if required) submitted
  • Statement of Purpose has been completed in Apply Yourself
  • Three letters of recommendation have been submitted on Apply Yourself by the recommenders
  • Apply Yourself Application has been completed and submitted in its entirety
  • Application fee has been paid

Transcripts

We require a bachelor's degree or its foreign equivalent from a recognized college or university. Many areas prefer a master's degree. Submit unofficial transcripts from each college or university attended (If requested, international applicants may need to send additional transcript information.) Transcripts must be uploaded via the Apply Yourself web site and may be unofficial, however upon admission to the school we require official transcripts to be sent directly to the university.

 

GRE/GMAT

We accept either the GMAT or the GRE. The test cannot be over 5 years old. Please use the information below when submitting your test scores:

  • GMAT - institution code D2N-VJ-74 ; 02
    • You will NOT be asked to self-report GMAT scores on your online application
  • GRE - institution code 6874, department code 4201
    • You may self-report GRE scores on the online application but official score results are also required

Letters of Recommendation

We require 3 letters of recommendation. Follow the instructions on the Graduate School Application Information page.

If your recommender cannot access the Internet, please have her/him mail the letter directly to the PhD office:

International Students

We require TOEFL, IELTS, or MELAB scores for international applicants UNLESS English is the first language or the applicant has attended a US institution for 24 quarter credits or 16 semester credits within two years of the application. Please use the information below when submitting your test scores:
  • For the TOEFL designate institution code"6874", department code "02" (option #3) to send them directly to the Graduate School (option will say Graduate Schools of Management)
  • Contact the IELTS or MELAB administrators to determine the institution code

Recommended Test Score Performance

  • Undergraduate GPA 3.0
  • Graduate GPA 3.5
  • GMAT > 650
  • GRE > 1380 or > 315
  • 600 (written TOEFL)
  • 250 (computerized TOEFL)
  • 100 (internet-based TOEFL)
  • 7.5 (IELTS)
  • 84 (MELAB)
