Carlson on Sustainability Conference

October 20-22, 2010
At the Carlson School of Management, Minneapolis, MN

"Carlson on Sustainability" brought together top business leaders, academics and policy makers from around the world to discuss the role of marketing in fostering the adoption of sustainable products and practices.

The goal of the conference was to generate new questions for researchers in the area of sustainability based upon the needs of corporations and policy makers. Out of this conference came new ideas for potential research, cross-industry idea generation and a better understanding of how to address sustainability with an increasingly savvy consumer base. Some of the topics addressed were:

  • Defining the demand side of sustainability
  • Consumer adoption of new and sustainable products
  • Perspectives from different sectors regarding sustainability

Conference organizers and presenters are in the process of determining the most salient and compelling questions that emerged from these important discussions. We will be periodically posting updates on our research agenda. Please check back with us for progress.
